Non è bastato per Alessandro de Rose unico atleta in gara per il redbull cliff diving, il calore e l’entusiasmo dei tifosi per aggiudicarsi la Tappa Italiana a Polignano a mare. Solo dieci punti lo hanno distanziato dal terzo classificato Michael Navratil che per giunta ha centrato il suo primo podio assoluto nella wordseries. Ad aggiudicarsi la tappa Italiana ancora una volta L’inglese Gary Hunt che si conferma vero e proprio leader dei tuffi dalle grandi altezze, assicurando anche il primo posto in classifica generale.
Stessa situazione per la competizione femminile. È ancora l’australiana Rhianna Ifland ha dominare la gara femminile e ad aggiudicarsi la tappa polignanese, la terza consecutiva.
Ma è la wildcard Maria Paula Quintero (COL) la vera sorpresa del giorno: l’eccellente esecuzione del suo ultimo tuffo l’ha portata, oggi, al secondo posto e al suo primo podio in assoluto. La Quintero è la più giovane atleta femminile nella Top 3 nella storia della red Bull Cliff Diving World Series.
